Every year it seems Las Vegas hotels are getting more expensive. If you look around, though, there still are some bargains. First, if you’re flexible as far as when you are able to come, take your vacation at off-peak seasons, such as mid-summer or the first three weeks in December or the last three weeks in January. Best bets for hotels include anything off-Strip, with the exception of Circus Circus, which offers surprisingly affordable rates. Any of the Station casinos will work too.
If your budget is really tight, there are some cheap, lesser-known hotels on or near the Strip. But beware: some of these are dumps that rent out by the hour.
Circus Circus, with its central location, is probably best for the budget-minded traveler who wants to take in the Strip.
Other choices for the budget traveler include Howard Johnson, the Somerset House, Vacation Village and the Algiers.
